The UPS Store Network Surpasses $1.6 Million Donation Milestone to Junior Achievement to Support Future Small Business Owners

Through the Start Small, Grow Big program, customers at more than 5,100 The UPS Store® locations contributed to help prepare young people for success

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 24, 2023 – In observance of International Day of Education, The UPS Store, Inc., an award-winning leader in retail shipping, postal, print and business service centers, today announced surpassing $1.6 million in donations within four months of introducing its Start Small, Grow Big program. Donations collected through the Start Small, Grow Big program will benefit Junior Achievement USA® programs designed to provide students with lessons in financial literacy, work and career readiness and entrepreneurship.

“For over 40 years, The UPS Store has been committed to supporting small business owners in every community we serve,” said Sarah Casalan Bittle, President, The UPS Store, Inc. “Part of this commitment is working together with Junior Achievement to connect our youth to simulated, real-world experiences that paves a path for a promising future.”

A recent survey by Junior Achievement indicated that most teens (58%) would start a business that addresses a societal need, three in four teens (75%) would be likely to consider becoming an entrepreneur, and more than half (55%) say they would need more information on how to be successful. The UPS Store Start Small, Grow Big program and Junior Achievement, help to ensure young people can directly access resources, business experts and knowledge to develop the skills they need to become the next generation of leaders.

“Teaming with The UPS Store is off to a strong start, and we want to thank The UPS Store network and their respective communities for donating their time, resources and money to give students the tools they need to achieve their potential in work, career, and life,” said Jack E. Kosakowski, President & CEO of Junior Achievement USA.
