The UPS Store, Inc., Achieved No. 4 on Entrepreneur’s Annual Franchise 500 Ranking

Places No. 1 in the Postal and Business Services Centers category for 34th consecutive year

SAN DIEGO (Jan. 16, 2024) The UPS Store, Inc., the world’s largest franchisor of retail shipping, postal, print and business service centers, climbed to the No. 4 ranking on Entrepreneur Magazine’s annual Franchise 500 ranking of the strongest franchise brands in the U.S. and Canada. Entrepreneur’s annual list is based on a variety of factors that collectively determine the strength of the franchise, including size and growth in the previous year, brand strength, financial stability, support provided to franchise owners and franchise costs and fees. This rank of number four on the list also marks the brand’s eighth consecutive year coming in the top five of all brands.

“We are celebrating another remarkable win as one of the best franchises in the Entrepreneur ranking,” said Sarah Casalan Bittle, president, The UPS Store, Inc. “This honor is a testament to our incredible retail owners and their associates who inspire us with their entrepreneurial spirit and set new standards for customer-first thinking that has helped The UPS Store thrive.”

In 2023, The UPS Store® network grew to more than 5,200 store locations across the U.S. and Canada, including many non-traditional locations in hotels, military bases and college campuses. A The UPS Store location is within 10 miles of more than 85% of the U.S. population. A strong growth driver was the continued work of The UPS Store to encourage new franchise owners from diverse backgrounds. The UPS Store launched its first responder program, reducing the franchise fee for first responders looking to open a franchise. This new discount builds on the previously launched The UPS Store veterans program and Diversity Ownership Program.

“By prioritizing building a diverse makeup of franchisees from different backgrounds, our owners help bring unique skills and strengths to The UPS Store, enabling us to further expand into more communities,” said Steve Chambers, vice president of retail and business development, The UPS Store, Inc. “Our network cares deeply about the communities they serve because they are part of those same communities.”

The UPS Store stayed current with e-commerce and customer experience trends and added self-service kiosks to more than 1,500 locations to streamline customer’s needs for self-service and create a “Connected Store” experience.

Additionally, The UPS Store has continued to strengthen its commitment to the future of entrepreneurship. Since August 2022, The UPS Store has teamed with Junior Achievement USA® for the Start Small, Grow Big program, which helps fund educational programs for school-aged children focused on work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
